Springtime private snowshoeing tour to the reindeer pasture

This program is best suited for nature and outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience the springtime magic of Lapland and meet our reindeer herd.

What to expect

Upon arrival in Unarin-Luusua, we will equip you with snowshoes and introduce the route. Depending on the weather conditions and your fitness and experience level, we will choose either a shorter or longer trail.

The route takes us through forests and open swamp landscapes, with a climb to a hilltop offering panoramic views. On the longer route, we may also explore a scenic canyon.

A backpack with light snacks and drinks will be provided for the trip. Our two friendly Lapponian herder dogs will be happy to join the tour. They love making new friends and are always up for cuddles. If you are uneasy around dogs, please let us know in advance so we can keep them at home for the day.

The tour continues towards a reindeer pasture, where you will have the chance to meet the reindeer up close and experience their calm and gentle nature. Our most curious reindeer will eat lichen straight from your hand. Meeting the reindeer herd in nature without time pressure or hurry offers a truly memorable and deeply relaxing experience.

We will then enjoy a warm lunch by the campfire. After starters, we will serve traditional reindeer herder’s meat soup, fresh bread with butter, and sweet treats for dessert. Please inform us in advance of any allergies or dietary requirements so we can accommodate your needs. We can offer gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

After lunch, there will be time to relax in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy the presence of the reindeer before we begin our return journey.
